fine alley dining – casa romero

Tucked away in a little alley between Newbury Street and Comm Ave on Gloucester Street in Boston is a little place called Casa Romero.

Lisa and I went last friday. We had chips and salsa, sangria, two appetizers and an entree. It was great because even after all that, we didn’t walk away with that gross kind of full you normally get when eating something greasy. The food was so authentic that even I, a person who took Spanish throughout high school and college, felt insecure about saying the names of the dishes out loud.

If you are lucky, and we were, you can sit outside in an adorable patio where you can see the prudential from certain tables. The restaurant sits in the basement so this outside patio is secluded and intimate.

I took this picture with my phone from my seat.

Here is the menu which is on the back of their post card. My favorite was the Chicken Flautas with Guacamole and Sour Cream.
